Rules
Rules of fair play
Do
- Work on your own. This is an individual challenge.
- Use any free AI tool, book or website if it helps you think. No paid tool is needed, and paid tools earn no extra credit.
- Keep your access code private.
- Seal your fund when you are ready. The platform's timestamp decides the seal time.
- Understand every rule in your fund. Finalists must be able to explain each one.
Don't
- Share answers, access codes or rulebooks with anyone during a round.
- Let anyone else complete any part of the challenge for you.
- Submit a fund copied from someone else. Identical or near-identical submissions are reviewed and may be disqualified.
- Expect to change a sealed fund. A sealed fund is final.
Rules for students
- Individual work.
- Any free AI tool, book or website may be used; no paid tool is needed or rewarded.
- No sharing answers, codes or rulebooks during a round.
- No one else may complete any part for a student.
- A sealed fund is final; the platform's timestamp decides.
- Finalists must be able to explain every rule.
- Identical or near-identical submissions are reviewed and may be disqualified.
If something goes wrong
- Your work saves automatically. You do not need to press save.
- If you lose your connection, log in again with the same email and access code and continue where you left off. The round clock keeps running, so reconnect quickly.
- Everything locks at 1:00 PM IST. Time lost to a dropped connection is not added back, except under the outage rule below. Any rulebook not sealed by 12:40 PM IST seals automatically.
- Outage rule. If the platform fails for more than five minutes, CMT Association and Edept's event controller may switch affected students to a fallback form. It has the same parts and the same rulebook menus. Affected students get a 20-minute extension. The decision and the list of affected students are recorded.
- For any problem you cannot fix, contact the Edept helpdesk: [Edept helpdesk contact].
Appeals
- Appeals against elimination close at 6:00 PM IST on 23 November 2026 (24 hours after the shortlist). Finalists are confirmed by 8:00 PM IST that day.
- Appeals against the final results close 48 hours after the results.
- Appeals are decided jointly by Joel Pannikot and Kirtiga Iyer.
- To appeal, contact the Edept helpdesk: [Edept helpdesk contact].
